In 2023, I started thinking about the untapped potential of undeveloped land. What if we could make it functional almost overnight? From short-term rentals and tiny homes to small campgrounds, personal retreats, events, remote construction projects, and even apocalyptic readiness (if that’s your thing), the possibilities felt endless. The goal was clear: create a simple, self-contained utility module that could be placed anywhere and make land usable.

The structure is intentionally simple: an 8x8, four-season, weather-sealed wooden box that’s easy to transport and set up. At its core is a redundant power system—solar panels, battery storage, and a propane generator—that ensures reliable energy no matter where you are. Add essentials like an incinerator toilet, water purification, hot outdoor showers, refrigeration, satellite internet, weather tracking, cameras, and even EV charging, and you’ve got everything you need to make remote spaces functional.

OutPost has been my way of testing an idea: how to make remote land accessible, practical, and ready for creative uses. It’s not a finished product or the perfect solution—yet. Instead, it’s been an experiment, a chance to learn, build, and push the boundaries of what’s possible.

I’m still figuring out where to go from here. Could OutPost become my next venture? Or maybe it’s just a stepping stone to something else. Either way, the process of creating it has been exciting, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it leads.
